Foreword from the Club Handbook
When the club was first formed it aimed to provide a way for runners, of all abilities, to make friends and train together. It still does.
After all these years we have come a long way. From a handful of members we now number in excess of 200. We have become more accomplished, more ambitious, more financially secure and more professional in everything we do.
Our members, men and women, run in events throughout the country and many venture further afield. Some perform best over short 5 mile or 10K races; many do better over longer distances. A few steel themselves for endurance events that make the marathon look like a Sunday stroll. For some, a jog in the park is more than enough.
But, despite the way the club has developed, and the varied mix of its members, one thing has never changed. It’s still great fun.
Thank you to all the committee members, coaches and volunteers who keep it that way.
